The Roseville Area Youth Hockey Association (RAYHA) is on a mission to give all kids in our area a chance to play hockey! RAYHA’s 1st Skate program is specifically designed for kids & families who are unfamiliar with (or completely new to) hockey. We’ll cover all the basics, and keep the focus on FUN! The cost is only $25 and we will provide each player a set of equipment to use during the program.
The program will consist of 1 orientation meeting with off-ice activities for the kids and information for the parents, followed by 5 one-hour ice sessions (warmups, small skills/game stations, full ice games/activities).
You will be required to write a check for $125.00. RAYHA will not cash it, instead they’ll hold it then return it to you when you return your equipment.
First Skate Dates are:
Equipment Exchange Day
Wednesday, September 13th - 6:00pm - 8:00pm - Roseville Arena lobby area by locker rooms
Saturday, September 16th - 10:00am - 12:00pm - Roseville Arena lobby area by locker rooms
The equipment exchange is typically for Squirt age skaters and up who need new (to them) equipment. The exchange day is when you can bring your formerly used equipment to donate then see if there’s anything to take that would work for you.
*There will soon be a big box at the rink for early donations.
*We really need small skates and small sox.
*You may not find equipment your size.
*There was some confusion last year as some returning Mite 1 parents thought they could exchange the loaner set they received for another set. Returning families need to purchase equipment.
*THANK YOU for your donation!

At the 2017 USA Hockey Annual Congress, the USA Hockey Board of Directors passed a series of rule changes. USA Hockey’s Official Playing Rules are evaluated and have the opportunity to be modified every four years according their official rule change policy.
A total of 60 youth hockey rules were modified by USA Hockey and will go into effect starting with the 2017-18 season. The majority of the changes were designed to further clarify the intent of the existing rule or update its language. The most significant rule change is that shorthanded teams will no longer be allowed to ice the puck at the Bantam level and below.

Many of you may know the Novotny family. The three boys have played hockey in RAYHA for the past 15 years and Brian has coached nearly that long. Jamie has clocked more hours in the stands than can be counted! Their family needs our support right now. Jamie has been in the hospital, in serious condition, for the past couple weeks. Whether it be a contribution to the GoFundMe account, a meal or sending positive thoughts their way, anything counts. Please click on the link to see GoFundMe information. A Meal Train is being set up too - more to come. Once again, anything you can do will help this Roseville family - let's get behind them to show our support! And thank you, your help is much appreciated.!
