Rink Rat Hockey

Rink Rat Hockey Returns to the Oval!

Rink Rat hockey is designed to give RAYHA kids a chance to play and interact with each other in a NON-Structured event. There will be limited interaction with adults/coaches so the kids must learn to think and act on their own. The kids can bring their own puck or ball if they wish. If they do, they should have their name on it so they and the other kids know whose it is.

Kids, please be careful and look when crossing the speed skaters path. Please try to limit the number of times you go on and off the ice when the speed skaters are skating on the outside track. This will keep everyone safer.

Who: Only Intro to Hockey, Mites, and 8U players registered with RAYHA can participate in the Rink Rat program.

When: Monday nights beginning in November through - February.   Please note different levels are assigned to different rinks. Schedule is subject to change. Please check the website to verify dates throughout the season.

Why: To provide our youth hockey players with a consistent place to play unstructured hockey without coaches or parents dictating what is happening on the ice.

What should I wear: Full equipment is recommended.

What should I bring: a puck with your child's name on it.

Required equipment: helmet, gloves, elbow pads and shin pads.

Rules: No slapshots and no checking at any level!

Parents please note: There will be a RAYHA coach on site on Monday nights to be available in case of emergency. The coach will not be supervising or instructing on the ice.

If you are interested in helping run the Rink Rat Program please contact Jeanna Hinderer, Vice President of Operations at: rayha.communication@gmail.com

Rinks are divided by age levels. Players may choose to play up one level but no one may play down a level.

All sessions are on Monday nights from 5:00-6:30 pm
